Oh so hyped, oh so loved, oh so worth it? Erm… Kinda.
So we've talked about my hair before. Fine, dry, damaged. You get the gist. Anyway ages ago I was in the market for a new hairbrush and I figured I'd give the Tangle Teaser a go.
Old news on the Bblogging circuit the Tangle Teezer claims to glide through wet 'vulnerable' (Ha! What an adjective!) hair with no pulling, tugging or yanking.
Does it do that? Yes. Yes it does. Is it perfect? No. No it is not. You see the thing is that yes, I can get the Tangle Teezer through my mane in a much smoother manner than my regular hair brush, and I do feel as though I'm subjecting my hair to less torment… but it's not totally smooth sailing.
The issue is that though the Tangle Teezer glides through the top 'layer' of hair if you like, it doesn't penetrate to the underneath. This means that I sort of have to separate my hair into sections when combing it, which is a little bit of a pain. It's not the end of the world or anything and it doesn't take very long, but I'd advise any of you out there with thick hair to give this purchase some real thought. Truth be told I'm just not sure the little guy would be up to the job of working it's way through a denser barnett.
So there we have it. If you've got fine-medium hair then yeah. I reckon go for it on this one. It is pretty wicked. You can pick them up in Boots for £10.99.
Catch ya on the flip side muther lickers.xxx
Earlier this summer I got Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash (Czech e-shop for £14) which is supposed to be specifically for wet hair. I've never ever ever since I can remember brushed my hair after washing it but I gave it a try, I had even brushed my hair with my regular brush before I used TT. Well, yeah, nice brush, nothing much has changed (at least for me). I enjoy ionic hair brush way more.
ReplyDeleteAlso, any new (or perennial star) favourites in make-up foundation area? Got quickly bored with Loreal's Nude Magic as my face has been a complete and utter bitch (like - never worse, my teenage years's got nothing on present) lately. I could really use some therapy session for people with acne.
Stay wicked, Janna! xx
Oooooh Ionic Hairbrush eh?
DeleteI have an Ionic Hair dryer. It's pretty wicked.
Foundation I always find super tricky. Being a slave to spots I'm terffied of new products worsening my skin. Theres a bunch of foundations I really like and cant use because they seem to aggrevate things for me.
The Nars Sheer Glow is AMAZING. Love the Coverage (medium but you can build to full), gorgeous dewy finish and stays on pretty darn well. Only areas to note would be that my chin needed a top up before anything else which was really odd.... haha! I cant figure out if sheer glow breaks me out or not... My skins so all over the place at the moment It's bloody hard to tell. What I will say is you can get a sample of it form a nars counter... so maybe give that a go before you start forking out the big bucks? x
I love those ionic things. I've also tried a straightener, which I used when I was like 16 for the last time, and I'm seriously considering a hair dryer too. Is it any good/do you feel any factual diffence between normal and ionic one?
DeleteYay, thanks for the tip! I'm headed to France in a few days so I may as well give myself a little (or big... really big) treat in Sephora. I'll see if I like but I've heard it's really good and definitely worth the money - I'll see. I've read it may not be the best thing for oily skin though. Anyway, thank you! xx
PS: You got me so excited with Glass Animals (well, I've known about them but haven't heard as much as I have lately) that I'll be seing them in November (with a singer called MØ who's freaking awesome too). And Banks in Brixton Academy. Yes, I do really like what you listen to. Thank you!
Couldn't really say 'yeah there's a difference'. I love my hair dryer, but I don't have anything to compare it too really. It's probably a load of baloney isn't it? haha!
DeleteI'm a huge fan of MØ ! x
I always thought the bristles seemed pretty short. I think I would get pretty annoyed that it doesn't brush the full depth of the hair in one swipe, I really like my hairbrush to almost massage my scalp, and get into the roots. There are a few cheaper alternatives coming out on the market here at least, so I might have to give one a go, just to see what all the fuss is about!
ReplyDeleteTasha // shiwashiful.
Like I said. It's alright! Pretty good even! Especially on fine wet hair like mine. Just if you've got lusciously thick locks it'll take a bit more work to separate segments etc. Give it a go for sure! :)
DeleteTotally agree with you! And I find that the bristles bend with the time, but it definitely is better then 'normal-ish' brushes.
ReplyDeleteIf you though about tryin the 'Wet Brush' - I heard really good things about it, like it's even better then the 'Tangle Teezer' and you could brush your hair when it's wet without breaking and pain - I don't experience that with my hair, it does pull and yank, not that much, but still, sad it didn't work for me :(

They absolutely do bend! And it gets dirty as fuck up in there! I go at it with an old toothbrush every so often to try and clean the damn thing. I really dont think it's that bad. Just wasn't blown away by it. I'll look into the 'wet brush' for sure. x
DeleteAnd when it goes flying out of your hand across the room! I think it's perfect for when your hairs wet but yep I section my hair too.. Heard the wet brush is good. Cult Beauty have some pretty neon ones, think they have 20% off until midnight Sunday if you were interested :)

Ahhh Dee! I've been so busy I missed the %20 off. DAMN. Ah well I'm sure I'll find it somewhere on a dealio. Totally know what you mean by chucking it all over the place! haha! x
