Physicians Formula - Matte Collection Quad Eyeshdow

When I was in 'Murica earlier this year I had a little (long) moment in CVS. It was a special time for me. I think I lost myself in those isles for a while, floating around in a sate of bliss amongst the various (normally unavailable to me) beauty bits. One of things that made it's way into my basket was the Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quad Eyeshadow. I'm glad it did.

I did my research before I flew from this land of tea and biscuits across the pond to the home of cola and cookies. I had a list. I had goals. I got distracted.

I saw this palette when attempting to find something else from the Physicians Formula range and, being one for the nudes, picked it up.  I love it. The shadows are highly pigmented, creamy, buttery, they blend well, they stay put, they are wicked.

I like to use the lightest shade in the corner of my eyes and under my brows. The lighter of the taupe shades I sweep across the lid with the darker taupe in the crease and under my bottom lash line. The dark grey I like to use around the outer corners of my eye in a smoked out sorta way and sometimes I'll run it under my bottom lashes on top of the dark taupe or on its own. I just love this palette. It's a compact 'everything you really need' kinda quad. Swatches below. Thought I'd do in shade and sunshine, just so you really get a feel for the sucka!

Note that the grey is more grey than this (see the shade swatch).

My skin tone looks like that of a zombie in this ^. 'I'M GUNA EAT YOUR BRAINS AND GAIN YOU'RE KNOWLEDGE.' - Name that film!!!! The swatches are accurate though. Promise.

So yeah. It's awesome. Not much else to say and for just over $7 this is some crazy value for money! If you love a good matte like myself then go. Buy. Be happy.  xxx

  1. Awesome read, yet again. Being from 'Murrrricaaa, it is sometimes hard to find good quality products for a decent price. Especially when you are from smaller cities. Not every name brand store and product is at your fingertips. I have adapted and managed to find some comfort products for myself, but of course that is a lot of trial and error at the price of beauty. I have never heard of this brand before, but $7 you say?! CVS?! For a product that price, I think it is time to venture out and try something new. Woot woot!

Are there any other eye shadow shades you are a fan of? I've been just dill dallying around with different combinations for shits and giggles.

    Thanks again!

    1. Hey Ashley!
The wet n wild eye shadows are pretty darn good considering their super cheap price tag. The glittery shades have quite a bit of fall out so just be careful when applying. If you use them with a good primer though then once they are on they stick! :)

      (full review coming soon)

      Long live 'murrricaaa!!!!

  2. Hey, this reminds me of the Naked Basics palette! I love me some good ol' basic mattes. This quad seems really great for accompanying other eyeshadow palettes! They actually sell Physician's formula where I live, but at hideously jacked up prices. I need to give some of their stuff a go!

    1. Ah naked basics. I love it so! There's definitely a couple of shades I use more than any other though. Wish you were able to replace individual pans in the palette. One day maybe?! xxx

  4. Looks like a really nice-all you need palette, and it's matt and not too big :) Do you use a primer underneath it?
How long has your list been? :D

    1. Nice work on the reference ;)

I usually use a primer but I've not used one with this a bunch of times and it still lasts pretty much all day! Jx

  5. This just looks fantastic. I absolutely love matte eyeshadows, I will definitely check them out when I go to the US. I also tend to have a moment (HOURS) in American drugstores, they are truly an experience. Did you have any chance to go to Target?
